Harold M. Pool Recognition Award

Awarded from 2007 through 2017, this program honored the memory of the Mile High Chapter’s first president and recognized outstanding AITP student members in Colorado.

About Harold M. Pool

Harold M. Pool was the first president of the Mile High Chapter (Denver) of AITP. He was instrumental in founding the chapter in 1952 and contributed to its success. Active in the chapter and the data processing community until his death in 2001, he mentored others and cared deeply about their professional development and success.

About the award

The award was provided by the Mile High AITP student chapter for many years. To be eligible, candidates had to be national AITP student members, and either members of a Mile High Chapter-sponsored AITP student chapter or individual members enrolled in a Colorado college or university where no official student chapter existed. Each candidate was nominated by their AITP student chapter advisor or, for individual members, by a member of the Mile High Chapter.

The award has concluded. Its remaining funds were donated to the 2023 United States Information Technology Collegiate Conference (USITCC).
